For over a year, I’ve enjoyed writing weekly content for the ProHealth blog. But that’s not where my connection to ProHealth ends. I’m a regular client, enjoying group equipment classes as part of my regular Pilates practice. I’m thrilled to share my personal experience as a client of ProHealth Pilates.
Studio Experience
Walking through the doors of ProHealth is refreshing before your class even begins. The beautifully designed studio is open, spacious and modern. The outdoors are invited in with sunlight and greenery spilling in through several large windows. While in circuit classes, I often enjoy gazing outside while on the reformer.
Clean and organized, there’s ample space to store my shoes, car keys and cell phone within eyesight. Near the entrance is a welcoming waiting area with plenty of seating, a water foundation and private bathrooms.
Taking Class
There are several reasons I drive 30 minutes to take Pilates classes at ProHealth. As a student at ProHealth, I come with ten years of teaching Pilates under my belt. Yet, there’s always something new I learn with each session. It keeps my Pilates practice fresh, engaging and challenging.
The teaching staff is fun, well-trained and knows your name. Several instructors are physical therapists or physical therapy assistants. Most ProHealth instructors were certified under Dr. Kayrn Staples, owner of ProHealth, a physical therapist and renowned Pilates professional. ProHealth staff is learning from the industry’s best. You’re in good hands with their high level of training and experience. Pilates classes are not only a great workout, but are taught to keep your body safe and healthy.
Reformer classes using the Konnector, are my favorite. The Konnector was brand new to me when I started classes at ProHealth. The Konnector is an additional set of straps that attach to the traditional reformer. Having straps in both your hands and feet simultaneously is an exercise for the body and brain!
Circuit classes are group classes that utilize the reformer, chair, mat and tower. It’s a fun switch from reformer classes. Green circuit is beginner and Blue is intermediate. I enjoy both and find both challenging, yet accessible.
Pregnant at ProHealth
ProHealth Pilates helped me have a healthy third pregnancy at 40. Never once did I feel the classes unsafe for my baby and me. While pregnant, I committed to 1 or 2 classes a week. The studio is well-equipped with props to support my growing body while pregnant. Practicing Pilates during pregnancy helped ease my back and hip pain. Postpartum, I believe my quick recovery can be credited to a Pilates practice while pregnant.
Class Schedule & Customer Experience
ProHealth books classes online, in-person and over the phone. Booking online is simple to use. I’ve occasionally booked over the phone, as well. The front desk staff is quick to respond and always helpful.
With 18 classes a week, there’s always a class to enjoy. Classes are Monday-Friday and a few can be taken virtually from home. While I haven’t taken private Pilates at ProHealth, it is available. Many physical therapy patients transition into private Pilates or take it in conjunction with their therapy sessions.
ProHealth is an excellent Pilates studio experience. If you’d like to try it for yourself, check out their schedule. You won’t regret it. I hope to see you at the studio!
