Pilates reformer classes at ProHealth Pilates studio in Peachtree City, GA take you to the next level with the Pilates Konnector. The Konnector is an innovative, pulley system that integrates with the traditional Pilates reformer. When you sign up for a Reformer class at ProHealth, you’ll experience the Konnector.
How does the Pilates Konnector work?
The Pilates Konnector attachment is attached to a traditional reformer through the pulley system. Traditionally, the reformer pulley has loops at the end of the pulley that are placed either on the hands or the feet. With the Konnector, you now have two sets of straps. You can now put your feet into a set of straps, while also putting your hands into an additional set of straps.
When both the hands and feets are utilizing the Konnector, you’re fully integrating your body on a whole new level, moving both the arms and legs with applied proprioceptive input.
What are the benefits of the Pilates Konnector?
The secondary external pulleys and straps challenge you internally on a deeper level. Your core is working twice as hard to stay stabilized. Say you’re on a traditional reformer and the straps are in your feet for leg circles. As you circle your legs, your arms press into the carriage to help stabilize the torso.
Now imagine you’re on the reformer with the Konnector, feet in straps and legs are circling. But this time you also have hands in straps and they’re circling simultaneously with the legs. Oh yes! Not only is your core engaged on a deeper level, so are your limbs and your mind.
The Konnector deepens the core work, but also your ability to mentally focus. The added challenge in coordinating various movements in the arms and legs is a lot of fun. It takes the mind body work to a whole new level!
Is the Pilates Konnector right for me?
When you walk into a Pilates reformer class at ProHealth, you’ll see class members at a variety of levels. ProHealth instructors are trained to teach reformer classes that serve students at different levels through adjustments in position and spring resistance. Class sizes are maxed out at 7 to ensure every participant receives adequate attention. No prior experience in Pilates is required, however most students new to Pilates feel best starting a Reformer Konnector class after two private sessions.
